Tugende 24: Move for Rwanda

“Tugende” (2-Jen-Day) means “Let’s go!” in the Kinyarwanda language.  Our  Tugende 2024 fundraiser will be a Move for Rwanda virtual event, happening September 21-29, 2024.  Come, join us!

What is Move for Rwanda? It’s really simple!  Anytime between September 21 and September 29, 2024, walk, stroll, run, jump rope, bike, swim, or kayak.  Or, you can choose to ‘relax for Rwanda’ by reading, knitting, singing, wine-tasting, or bird-watching!

T-shirts are no longer available, but please join us for this celebration—Tugende 24!

Our Tugende 24 fundraiser is focused on nutrition and health at our school. Nutrition and health are key to student success, and our kitchen staff prepare more than 127,000 meals a year to feed our students. During the pandemic, we reached out to vulnerable students, teachers and local residents with food aid.  Since then, food prices for staples like potatoes, beans, milk and green vegetables are continuing to rise dramatically.  Food is our largest budget item after staff salaries.

You pick your date.  You pick your time.  You can even pick your activity and location.

The greater Rwanda School Project and Rwamagana Leaders’ School communities will be joining you!

Your donation of any amount is welcome. Please click on the donation button at the top of this page.

Follow us on social media. Share photos and spread the word. Our students in Rwanda will be joining you as well.
